Transitioning out of a job is weird. It’s not the knowledge that people want to make sure they take away before it is lost, it is the ‘do’-ing that people want transitioned. And, even the new do-ers, seem uninterested in walking through how the old do-er did it at anything other than a super high level.
But, maybe the knowledge is the best part; If i could write a history-of-my-job that evoked why we did certain things, and what the important bits are to keep in mind, maybe that’d be more beneficial in the long run; rather than just picking up another do-er to do what the last do-er did.
