I also think that if each citizen, when doing their taxes, saw where each penny went at a high level, and had the option of opting out of the next year of funding for those programs, we’d get people more interested in really thinking about what the government is doing.
For instance, lets say 20 dollars of my yearly taxes is going to PLAN high speed interstate railroads, I’m opting out...
Lets make a web application that lets people cut programs from the United States federal budget as they see fit, submit it, and then we can run statistical analysis to determine which programs are least inline with people’s viewpoint of what the government should be doing.
Lets make it easy to group things by types of funding and types of recipients, and put sliders on existing budgets.

Just got finished a day of diagnosing basically all user and Microsoft windows issues. All the linux and mac people got through the day without an issue. Other than almost everyone forgetting to:
