Playing wth HTML 5 DOM Storage (IE8, Webkit, and Firefox have it) and introducing use of it into Ochan… so far, i’m going through the baby step of realizing that the API doesn’t know how to handle objects, and expects string content.

the $4 standing desk is live.
Actually, no, that still has a ‘plug’; you had to insert this paddle into the car. I want to just pull up, and poof.. thing A on the ground attaches itself to my car (or wireless power) and I don’t touch a thing. The car knows when it needs a charge, and the ground knows how to bill my account. OR, that section of the power grid buys stored power off my car, because my car knows...
Why dont electric cars just charge themselves by parking in a charging capable parking spot. Why do they all still have cables, and plugs, and blah.
Looks like it; Here is another.

Fresh brewed iced tea and just an hour of reading till the government all hands meeting. I’ve been working on a change to Ochan (yes, i know, too much attention to a single pet project) to introduce ‘thread watching’.
The idea is.. when I’m on other image boards, I don’t want to push off my ‘browser state’ to an rss feed reader, because it loses track of...
Doing stuff off iteration, and without buy in from my managers through the kickoff process bothers me. I’m not here to jump because you say so.
why do we have a budget?
laundry, football, tea, programming, and relaxation… oh what a sunday evening.
673 page blog…… 99% photos.. 2 weeks.
resolved the first ticket using the new laptop; yay! On ubuntu, with dual boot win 7 (because I paid for a license), all in an afternoon.
New laptop is here.. burning windows 7 recovery disc for the sake of doing it, before blowing it away for linux.

YOU FUCKERS SPENT ALL MY MONEY!
Yep, not enough super heroes; or maybe too many earned value fuckers. Or wait.. its because the project is too expensive. If it were cheap, this wouldn’t be happening.
And yes.. its too expensive for the 2 things we do well, and the 500,000 that are done super badly; I don’t possibly see how we can scale our (the project’s) business without it ripping apart (which I’m...

Reblog for my freind W who despises merging with SVN. I however am a kung-fu subversion master… and can merge anything anywhere at anytime.

I think I’m gonna test drive a volkswagen GTI… audi a3.. and volvo c3… winner in my mind is the GTI already…
I need to be a better manager and a better leader.
I feel like I’m pulling double duty for my team, on one hand.. I’m leading.. I HAVE to be the force to drive my team in the right direction, because we’re lacking the skills and the vision/art to do it without me; but, I’m failing at getting everyone coordinated and being missioned properly. It takes far more than a...

Taking my transformers home to make room for standing desk ‘situation’.. which will probably start off as a hack of boxes. and then move on to me purchasing an adjustable height desk.
I smell like bleach… Grrrr cleaning
Lame
I don’t feel like we’re making any actual progress on anything.. I’m getting convinced that we have the operations needs improperly mixed into a single work queue, rather than designating an ops person to specific project areas.
Command line xpath anyone? →
Disabling Flash was the best thing I’ve ever done on my computer. The web is fast again.
maybe its all a big joke… now that we are on atleast decent hardware.. maybe we’ll never need to scale bigger than one machine because of how much of a joke the system is.. maybe.
hesitant to head to work..
Today I…
cried over our insanity, reported to upper management (with an awesome response), documented how to leverage tools to do capacity planning, and left early.
No more dell… I’m not approving any more delays; you’ve missed christmas by an entire month, and now its just too late..
Well i’ll be… my old suit pants DO fit again…. although, i still cannot button all 3 buttons on the jacket without sucking in my tummy.
grr.. i’ll get you suit jacket!
Doing my gentoo update today.. only 3 or 4 problems going from ‘2008’ to 10.1.. which is nice. :) But, yes.. i’m basically waiting to get through it before actually compiling the REAL thing I want..
Is it crazy for me to think that we should have our own patchset to the openjdk to accomplish our mission? Yes.. yes it is.
But, that would do some cool things for us… like make the virtual machine actually act like a proper sandbox and stop JMX from listening ON ALL ADAPTERS!!!! GRR!!
I’ve got 40 million things on my mind, and nothing seems to be working to get me to straighten up and plow through them.. they are all just so big; and I’m not sure which are the most important.
3 hours of cleaning.. no energy left… 80% done..
I went through all 134 pages of your blog….
Does anyone else read ENTIRE blogs?

Can I get a standing desk now? Or.. well, anything that would actually make showing up to work better?
How to wash dishes in an office
marco:
Stack as many dishes, glasses, and mugs in the sink as you can get to fit in it. Be sure to include as much leftover food as possible, especially if it came from the ocean. There should be no more than 1 inch of clearance between the top of the stack and the faucet’s opening.
Saturate the sponge, then hide it somewhere in the middle of the stack.
Pour coffee over the stack.
Just spent the last 3 hours reading The Art of Capacity Planning. Overall, it was a good read; however, It did more to secure that I already know exactly what we/I need to be doing, and confirming that I am not getting the time/resources needed to it.
For ~120 pages, it really covers the whole kit on being an operations person. And I would say only 20% of the book really covered what capacity is,...
